Most days are non-stop for me and I’m sure you can relate. I wake up only to quickly jump into my to-do list and before I know it I’m plopping on the couch, exhausted and wondering where the day went. There’s ups, downs, meltdowns, belly laughs, literally the works on any given day and I’ve come to realize that if I don’t stop and take inventory of my days, I miss those really special joyful pieces that make up what life’s all about.
Today I’m sharing 3 things bringing me joy right now in hopes that it will inspire you to think of your joy list too. I’m told our energy flows where our focus goes so today, it’s on pure joy.
Turning Vivi’s room into a “Big Girl” room
It’s felt incredibly special (and bittersweet) turning my daughter’s room into a “big girl” space. So much of where we’re placing things, the colors, and items she wants have been decided on together. It’s very much a space for her and I’ve been feeling grateful we can give this to her. I’ve been documenting the process over on Instagram so if you’d love to see the entire thing, just click here.
Audible
I don’t know where I’ve been but about four months ago I started listening to audio books and it’s been a game-changer. I can’t recommend enough if you struggle to give yourself the time to read. I love how it’s given me a piece of myself that I neglected for so long and now I get to return to it and it just feels so damn nice.
Waking up before the house
I am not a morning person.. Let me repeat: I am not a morning person (lol). But jumping out of bed the same time my girls were waking up simply wasn’t cutting it. It took some time (and about a billion hits to the snooze button) to finally start waking up about 30 minutes to an hour before the house does but it’s brought so much peace to the start of my days. Sometimes I choose to work out, while other days I choose to sit and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee. It’s really whatever I need that day and trust me when I say, I start looking forward to it the night before.
Now that I’ve share the things bringing me joy right now, I’d love to hear yours. Tell me one, or more, things making you light up right now in the comments below.
Until next post.
